Hexagram 2 - Kun
HEXAGRAM 2

ACCEPTANCE
KEY WORD: BE RECEPTIVE
MESSAGE: Gentle perseverance brings good results.
MAIN COMMENTARY
Hexagram 2 is passive energy. The six broken lines that comprise hexagram two represent pure yin energy emanating from the universe. The receptive earth is in harmony with the boundless universe; it embraces everything and illuminates everything in its greatness. You too should be receptive and tolerant and accept everyone and everything and not try to control things. By not controlling situations and people you are able to see how things unfold naturally and allow yourself to be guided on the right path.
Hexagram 2 is also a message about letting go of how you used to operate and being more receptive. Look around to see what is going on right now. Pay more attention to your intuition for guidance. Its to your advantage to allow a leader with more experience and knowledge to guide you in the right direction. Focus more on finding friends and partners in the south-west and letting go of friendships in the north-east that lead nowhere.

The analogy of a mare is given to represent an assistant or someone in a supporting role. You can advance by being accommodating and gentle on the outside but strong on the inside. Whenever you set out to undertake something on our own and try to take control and lead and you lose the way. If you follow a dominant leader or partner you find the right guidance. When friendships or situations hit an impasse and lead nowhere, it’s better to let go and seek friendships elsewhere.
Trust in the workings of the universe. Be receptive and tolerate everyone you have to bear with and yield to the natural development of things, instead of trying to control everything. Every time you have an objective and you set off to reach it you get off course because you try to control things. For a relationship you hit an impasse. Accept the situation and don't attempt to control matters. Let it be.
