MAIN COMMENTARY

Hexagram 14 is an extremely auspicious hexagram. You should organize all your efforts in achieving great wealth. Hexagram 14 is considered the most auspicious in the I Ching. Imagine a cornucopia —— a horn of plenty overflowing with flowers and fruit and nuts; a mythical horn used as a symbol of abundance and blessings. As a person it depicts a dignified intellectual who has a commanding presence. 

 

Your principles should guide your choices. Even when there is a variety of opportunities and choices. You have to use your discriminatory skills and be able to distinguish what is right and good for you and what is not. Be selective. Acknowledging your good fortune without being greedy for more is the foundation of your great abundance. Be like someone at a buffet; be grateful for the large selection and choice of food but don't overfill your plate. Be grateful for what you have and show your appreciation to the universe. Don't take anything for granted. When we give wholeheartedly and accept with gratitude then everyone is blessed.

 

Good fortune has nothing to do with merit and worth and prestige. Fate and luck as well as acting in a timely and positive manner play a big role.  It is to your advantage to promote yourself in a positive light and curb any negative tendencies, like showing off your good fortune or being greedy and materialistic. Showing off what you have will attract envy that could trigger off distressful situations adversity and misfortune. You should suppress negative ideas feelings impulses actions and people and promote good feelings and support what is positive ethical and good for only in this way will you enrich your life. 

 

These principles should guide your choices:

You should not become conceited and proud when you've become successful.

You should show your appreciation with gratitude. 

You should not show off your good fortune or people will be jealous. 

You should continue to be correct sincere and trustworthy even when you have it all.

LINES ANALYSIS

 

LINE 1

Stay away from anything that is harmful from the start so that you are not blamed at the end. At the beginning things always look positive you don't know what can happen later on. It's to your advantage to pay attention to your thoughts and relationships from now. Don't get involved in harmful situations or with harmful people.

LINE 2

The analogy of a big wagon to carry a large load is given to describe that a trusted individual is delegated the responsibility to undertake an important task.  The wagon is the means by which something is delegated, assigned or turned over to someone else in order to produce good results.

LINE 3

A dignified person is able to make sacrifices — an offender is not. A person who is greedy and materialistic can cause harm when they have it all. They act like a criminal in a heartless manner; only out to please themselves. A dignified person shares what they have.

LINE 4

By not showing off your good fortune and blessings and you avoid envy and adversity. You clearly know what needs to be done. Use your intelligence and discriminatory skills. You don't want to end up having to pay or offer more.

LINE 5

Your awe-inspiring dignified presence attracts good fortune and makes people want to associate with you. You exert power and influence. Your sincere approach is reciprocated because you are able to easily read and understand someone's thoughts and motives.

LINE 6

It's like a miracle. Like a blessing.  Protected by the universe you enjoy good fortune and success. Be grateful and appreciate what you have. Share your good fortune. Everything goes your way because you have a sincere trusting approach and give way to your destiny. Of all the lines and hexagrams in the I Ching, this is one of the best. If it is the only changing line it becomes Hexagram 34 where you not only receive great blessings from the universe but also great power to rule.
